Explore Our Construction Portfolio...
We’re proud of our work and we want to share with you the process and outcomes of projects we have worked on over the years. Whether it be private design and build, Local Authority projects or refurbishments we hope to inspire and provide you with the reassurance that your construction investment is in the very best of hands.
We adopt a completely tailored approach to each and every project we work on. What architect will be best placed and experienced in bringing the vision to life, what trades people will know and work best with the design and materials agreed, what is the balance between functionality of the build, sustainability and aesthetics?
We work with clients on one to one basis to create something special, something unique…our portfolio and client feedback speaks for itself.
Explore our work…we work on numerous projects across Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
“Matt and his team worked with us to create a space in our home which was originally unused. His constant updates to our budget allowed us to create a room in our home which is now used daily…. will be using again. Thank you” Alan Hungerford

Hansom Hall
Leicester City Council, Refurbishment, Redevelopment
Grade II listed former Methodist chapel of great local significance. Named after the architect, Joseph Aloysius Hansom, designer of the grand and impressive Birmingham Town Hall, Hansom Hall is better known locally as the Pork Pie.
Hansom Hall is currently in use as theatre, conference centre, local education teaching space and library.
This £250K project included, creation of universal access entrance facility, accessible toilet facilities, cafeteria and general refurbishment of all adjoining areas.
Expert works included the restoration of existing Parquet flooring and the formation of an opening between two adjoining buildings to enable access. One of the buildings was listed therefore subject to the standard listed building restrictions.
Working in a live environment meant access was marginally restricted and works continued out-of-hours ensuring the minimum disruption and a timely completion.
The result, a modern and universally accessible facility considerately blending original Victorian features with contemporary 21st Century necessities.

31 Church Lane, Darley Abbey
Renovated Bungalow with Extension
This project was passed onto MFP Building Solutions from an engineer due to the complexity of the project. The architect is Matthew Montague who has worked in partnership with the team at MFP throughout the duration of this project, as well as numerous previous works.
The rear extension comprises a ground floor, featuring a cinema room, kitchen diner, 2 sets of stairs and 2 storey atrium with a turret Spanish slate roof with stunning views scanning over Derbyshire.
The existing bungalow had to undergo extensive structural remedial works including underpinning and numerous steel supports. MFP Building Solutions has vast experience of working with properties that require structural assistance as well as many years’ experience of working in partnership with numerous structural engineers.
This project is still live and ongoing.
Hairdressing Academy, Spondon
Converting a commercial unit into a stylish salon
Prieviousley this property was an old Victorian house in a conservation interest area with a dated commercial unit to the rear.
MFP Building Solutions converted the house into 2 retail units which were jointly let by a barber shop and hair salon. The property had various structural issues which had to be addressed with a steel portal frame, removing the chimney breast and forming 2 open plan areas with a new door and stair access to the first floor.
The rear unit needed a total refurbishment and insulation upgrade, new roof, K render and new aluminium doors.
