We are proud to say that our dedicated and talented team have been working in the construction industry for some 30 years. Formerly trading as Matt Fearn Property Services as a sole trader, building an impressive portfolio of work across a wide scope of projects, our strong partnerships with carefully selected architects and trades means we are widely known as one of leading providers of design and build solutions in the East Midlands, mainly Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
Our core team has a long and successful history of working in the construction industry, operating within the scope of private building works as well as Local Authority projects. Our team operates within clearly defined roles and remits which provides homeowners, clients and stakeholders with the confidence that their project is in the most trusted and safest of hands. It’s a seamless customer experience.
Matt Fearn
Matt is essentially the man that heads the building knowledge of the business. He takes responsibility for the successful delivery of all projects and acts as a highly skilled and innovative constructor, sharing and offering his advice with his team and customers throughout the key stages. His expectations are that MFP’s network of trusted trades and partners share the same exacting standards and vision for the future. Continual maintenance and delivery of these standards are what has built the business’s reputation to be what it is today.
Verna Fearn
When it comes to the management creation and detail of commercial agreements, accounts and administration of projects Verna does this with efficiency and attention to detail. It provides clients with the essential reassurance that the nitty gritty of supporting works is in good hands.
Verna is key to the seamless workflow management of the team running the company’s key performance managements and she is key to the communications between the delivery and the customers throughout the process.
Joe Thomas
Operations Director – MFP Building Solutions Ltd
Under any successful Company and Director is a competent Operations Manager. They are vital to keeping all the cogs of the business turning seamlessly, especially within construction as their role is pivotal to implementing the right processes and practices across the organisation.
At MFP Joe does exactly that and more! With him being at the forefront of MFP this allows us to keep striving for success as he makes all the day to day running of the business flowing exactly how they should. With over 10 years of experience Joe has excelled in all aspects of construction and is an integral member of our team.
Joe works directly with Matt at the award stage of all projects, and follows a proven project plan as below, to deliver all MFP Building Solutions works to the highest of standards.
- Mobilisation plan
- Construction phase plan
- Cash flow forecasting
- Health and safety
- Setting out Key Performance indicators (KPI’s)
- Monthly progress meetings
Working with attention to detail and precision being paramount, to personally handing over the completed project on time and on budget, he ensures projects are completed to the highest standards possible.
Joe also works with Matt to ensure the daily running of the operations side of the business is managed seamlessly, ensuring the correct trades are on all sites in the right order, at the right time, and are fully aware of their daily targets.
Joe continuously looks to help improve all aspects of the company processes and operations, not only giving everyone at MFP ongoing guidance but also going that extra mile for the clients he is dealing with on a daily basis.
His knowledge extends beyond most as he continues to work closely with clients, architects, and surveyors to achieve each clients individual vision.
Dan Mackenzie
Business Development Manager – MFP Building Solutions Ltd
A Business Development Manager is crucial to any business looking to scale up and achieve sustainable growth. My main objective is to look after our clients and deliver what we promised to them.
Here at MFP my role is exactly that, with my main aim to pull in some fantastic new projects and extend relationships with new and existing partners. It’s important for me to provide clients with the reassurance that we are the right team to partner with on present and future projects.
Our management team will work closely together to ensure our customers have a one to one connection that builds and delivers their vision throughout. Communication is key during the entire project process.

Business ownership began some 30 years ago when we first started offering design, build and maintenance solutions to both the private and public sectors. We became widely known across the east and west midlands as well as the east coast . Our reputation grew to be exemplary, our wider team dedicated, and our works vast.
Then the pandemic hit and it was time to seek out future opportunities, making use of the down time that was forced upon us to reflect and re-model ourselves for the future. And that is exactly what we’ve done by opening the doors to MFP Building Solutions. Taking all the best bits of what we’d all learned during our years of trading, and acknowledging the areas of work we were exceptional in. It means moving forward we are focussed and driven to be the very best, and we’re bringing with us a strong portfolio of partners and suppliers, who share our combined values and vision. The future is bright.
